Topic Outline:

This course is designed to illustrate various applications of linear algebra for Computer Science students who have already taken Math 1553.  Some of the topics to be covered include Markov chains, Google’s PageRank algorithm, discrete dynamical systems, the method of least squares, constrained optimization of quadratic forms, and Singular Value Decomposition.

NOTE: This course is restricted to Computer Science majors who have credit for Math 1553, or 1502 or 1522.  Credit will not be given for this course and 1554, or for this course and 3406.
